28.06.2023 :TRCS SECRETARY GENERAL AFFIRMING SORRY TO FLOOD VICTIMS IN KAGERA REGION

The Secretary General of Tanzania Red Cross Society Ms. Lucia Pande visited the office of the Bukoba District Commissioner, Hon. Erasto Yohana Sima as a continuation of her working visit to the Region where he has offered condolences and help to the victims of the floods that occurred on 24/06 in Omkigusha village, Bilele ward, Bukoba Municipality. Secretary General handed over Kitchen Sets, Nets and Hygiene Kit Sets.
In the handover, the Secretary General explained the various tasks of the Tanzania Red Cross Society to the community and asked for the cooperation of the District Commissioner's office, and lastly she promised to cooperate with the Government at all times and not only when disasters occur.

 

27.06.2023 : TRCS SECRETARY GENERAL CONTINUES WITH WORKING VISIT TO KAGERA REGION

The Secretary General of Tanzania Red Cross Society, Mrs. Lucia Pande has continued her visit to Kagera Region and visited the areas owned by the Red Cross in Kagera Region like Kasharara Village, Karambi Ward at Muleba District where she has been satisfied, encouraging them about the investment in Farms and advising them to develop those areas.

 At the same time, the Secretary-General has participated in tree-planting activities at the TRCS Muleba District office as a sign of giving motivation to the community to plant trees in abundance to fight the ongoing climate change.

The Secretary-General also had the opportunity to attend and witness the Safe Dignified Burial (SDB) training, that is, special training for safe burials for people who died of Epidemic diseases (Ebora Virus Disease and Marburg Virus disease) in Bukoba Municipality sponsored by IFRC. On the visit, the Secretary-General was accompanied by IFRC Representatives Mr. Emmanuel Moro and Ms. Evelyn Munyao who are in Tanzania for the management of the MVD Project.

 

26.06.2023: TRCS SECRETARY GENERAL CONGRATULATES THE VOLUNTEERS - KAGERA

Tanzania Red Cross Society, Secretary General Ms. Lucia Pande has made a working visit to Kagera Region and held a meeting with RMC-Kagera members, together with volunteers who participated in the fight against the Marburg outbreak.

122 volunteers who participated in activities to educate the community on how to protect themselves from the Marburg disease, today the Secretary-General has provided them with Certificates of Congratulation and Participation in the way they demonstrated that TRCS is there during disasters for the Government because their work has led to the disease being eradicated which brings a significant achievement to mitigate Marburg disease.
